Google announced a new service coming later this year called
Wave. So far I haven’t played with it and all I know is what they told people at Google I/O when they unveiled the developer preview.
The open source project will be a new way of communicating with the best of email, IM, blogs and all other ways of communicating on the web.
I have signed up to be notified when they are ready to let more people in and I will be reviewing it shortly after I get in.
Apple held an
event to preview the new operating system for the iPhone. Version 3.0 will have: Search in more places (mail) Cut, copy, and paste Send photos, contacts, audio files, and location via MMS (3G phones only) Read and compose email and text messages in landscape
Most of this stuff is version 1 and if not version 2 at the latest however the update will be free to all iPhone owners.
As for my
predictions the only one’s I got were copy and paste and push notifications. Turn by turn directions can be developed as a third party app but won’t be part of the core OS due to licensing.
Apple have sent out invites to an “advance preview of what we’re building” event on March 17th. I haven’t been invited but
Engadget will be there live bloging to whole thing. My wish list for what the new operating system is short and simple: Push notification – promised by Apple (or background processes) Copy and paste Turn by turn GPS directions Video Recording Better MobileMe integration – photo albums, iDisk.
Only a few hours after I
posted that I would be testing the new theme I’ve been working on for some time now, I’m finished. There wasn’t as many bugs as I was expecting and the whole thing went perfectly to plan with only a few minutes of down time.
I’m sure bugs will still pop up so if you find one please let me know.
Today I’m getting ready to launch a new theme I’ve been working for a few months now.
The site may look strange between now and the new style going live because I am currently in the process of testing it and fixing a few bugs.
I hope to have to new site public by the end of today.
