Predictions 2008 Review

The years almost up and it’s time to look back and see how well I did at predicting what would happen this year.

In January I predicted:

  • Apple will announce a new Apple TV green-tick (details)
  • iTunes will get movie rentals green-tick (details)
  • The HD disk format war will not be won red-cross
  • iTunes will have HD content (i.e TV shows and Movies) green-tick (details & details)
  • Service pack 2 for Windows Vista red-cross
  • DRM on music will be on more green-tick (details & here & here)
  • The Xbox 360 will get a built in HDDVD drive and WI-FI red-cross
  • OpenID will be used by more sites green-tick
  • Google’s Stock will break green-tick (details)
  • Amazon mp3 will launch in the UK green-tick (details)

7 out 10 isn’t bad.

Bill Gates Goodbye Video

The best thing Microsoft had to offer at CES was the farewell video for Bill Gates.

Bill’s last full day at Microsoft will be in July and hopeful next year we’ll see a different, better Microsoft.

My Predictions for 2008

In 2008 I predict that:
